Sizing

• Responsive from 240×100 up to a full-width 800×220; the type rescales to fit, no per-site tuning needed.
• Default 320×140 fits most blog sidebars cleanly.
• For a banner-style placement, try width="100%" and height="160".

What it shows

• Before kickoff — the next scheduled match and a live countdown 3d 4h, 2h 15m, or 4m 30s.
• During a match — a pulsing ● LIVE tag, the team names, and the live score.
• After the final — a trophy and See you in 2030.

Polling and bandwidth

• matches.json is fetched once on load and cached aggressively.
• live.json is polled every 30 seconds only while at least one match is in its live window. Outside that window, the widget is silent on the network.
• The countdown ticks locally every second — no requests.
